The policy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Egypt has come under fire from the world renowned Muslim scholar Yusuf al-Qaradawi and a popular Saudia Arabian columnist, Muhanna al-Habil.

During the Friday sermon of congregational prayers in Qatar, the Egyptian scholar Yusuf al-Qaradawi slammed the UAE for hosting Ahmad Shafiq, who was the right-hand man of former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak. He also accused the UAE of standing against every Islamic rule and imprisoning Islamists.

The Saudi Arabian columnist Muhanna al-Habil went further to claim that the UAE was conspiring with Israel to trigger civil war in Egypt to rid it of the Muslim Brotherhood, which both see as a threat.[More-World Bulletin]
