Chinese health authorities are trying to stop the spread of a bird flu influenza virus.
Officials said on Friday that 6 people in 4 provinces were infected with the H7N9 strain. A 38-year-old man in Fujian Province died after becoming infected.
So far this month, 14 people in mainland China and one in Hong Kong have been confirmed to be infected.
Last year, there were 149 confirmed infections on the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. 48 people have died.
