Nigerian army kills 38 suspected insurgents

The Nigerian army said it has killed 38 suspected Boko Haram terrorists in the early hours of Thursday as the sect moved to attack Damboa town in Borno State in northern Nigeria.
The spokesman for the 7th Division of the Nigerian army, Col. Mohammed Dole, said in a statement on Thursday in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State that one soldier was killed while two others sustained injuries.

He explained that large cache of assorted arms were seized while the Nigerian Air Force aircraft were pursuing the fleeing terrorists in the general area of Damboa and surrounding villages.[Read more]
